BMS Opens Global Capability Centre in Mumbai to Scale Data, Analytics and AI Capabilities

BMS, the independent insurance and reinsurance broker, has announced the opening of its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Mumbai. The new centre marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to build data, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities at scale.
The GCC is led by Nipun Mapara as Managing Director, with Sanjeev Poojari serving as Head of Operations.
Supporting Global Operations
As an integrated part of the organization, the BMS India GCC will work closely with BMS teams worldwide across broking operations, data, analytics, technology, and client service functions.
The centre forms a key component of BMS’s long-term operating model, expanding access to talent, specialist skills, and AI expertise in India while strengthening collaboration and consistency across the business.
Driving Data and AI Transformation
The launch comes as BMS accelerates investments in data infrastructure and artificial intelligence, including the deployment of AI tools across broking and operational functions.
The Mumbai GCC will provide the specialist capabilities required to support these initiatives at scale, helping the company advance its technology and innovation agenda.
BMS was supported by EY, which advised on the feasibility, design, and establishment of the centre, as well as the skills required for effective market delivery.
Expanding BMS’s Presence in India
The new GCC complements BMS’s broader presence in India, following the recently announced strategic partnership with Berns Brett India (BBI).
The investment in infrastructure, technology, and talent represents the next phase of BMS’s strategy to strengthen geographical reach, diversify capabilities, and support sustainable business growth.
