In a historic move, the Government of Odisha, in collaboration with the Singapore-headquartered Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN), has launched the BharatNetra Initiative with the inauguration of the Integrated Global Financial Technology Capability Hub (I-GFTCH) in Bhubaneswar.
This marks Odisha’s first large-scale global FinTech capability initiative, positioning the state as a rising nerve centre in India’s innovation and digital economy landscape.

From Odisha to the World: Training Digital Finance Leaders
- Launch of the Certificate in FinTech & InsurTech (CFI) in partnership with NUS-AIDF and GFTN.
- 5-month hybrid program combining coursework, projects, internships, and in-person training in Bhubaneswar.
- Target to train 7,000 students over five years.
- Already attracted 2,000+ applicants from 50 colleges for the first 375-seat cohort beginning September 2025.
Odisha Joins the Global Black Swan Network
- Bhubaneswar to host the Black Swan Summit (BSS) India in early 2026.
- Will connect startups, innovators, and talent to international job pipelines, venture capital, and global digital economy networks.
- Positions Odisha as a hub for financial inclusion, innovation, and strategic investment.
Innovation Hub for FinTech & InsurTech Entrepreneurs
- Establishment of a Centre of Excellence as part of the Integrated Innovation Hub.
- Includes an Innovation Acceleration Programme offering incubation, mentorship, venture development, and global market access.
- Aims to create a thriving ecosystem for high-potential FinTech and InsurTech startups.
Global Capability Hub for FinTech Collaboration
