Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi met A. Revanth Reddy at the Chief Minister’s Jubilee Hills residence in Hyderabad to discuss the company’s operations and future plans in Telangana.
During the meeting, Khosrowshahi announced the expansion of Uber’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Hyderabad, which the company described as its first CoE outside the United States.
Hyderabad CoE Currently Employs 600 Engineers
According to the article, Uber’s Hyderabad Centre of Excellence currently employs approximately 600 engineers.
Khosrowshahi also expressed the company’s interest in establishing an Uber corporate office in Bharat Future City, a large-scale development project being planned near Hyderabad.
Telangana Government Highlights Infrastructure Priorities
During the discussion, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy advised Uber to focus on easing parking congestion in Hyderabad and other major cities.
He suggested the company explore:
- Multi-level parking facilities
- EV charging stations
- Parking integration near Metro Rail stations
The Uber delegation reportedly assured the government that a study would be undertaken to evaluate the integration of parking facilities with EV charging centres.
Bharat Future City Positioned as Global Business Hub
According to the Chief Minister, Bharat Future City is being developed across 30,000 acres near Hyderabad and aims to host 500 global companies.
The site is located approximately 25 kilometers from Shamshabad Airport and has already attracted investment proposals from more than 100 firms during a Global Summit held last December.
Uber reiterated its interest in establishing a corporate office within the development.
