US financial services firm Charles Schwab has leased approximately 340,000 square feet of office space in Hyderabad, with the facility expected to accommodate around 2,000 employees, according to documents sourced from real estate analytics platform Propstack.
Establishing Schwab India Operations
The brokerage major had earlier incorporated a new legal entity, Charles Schwab Services India (Schwab India), and established an employment centre in Hyderabad as part of its expansion strategy in the country.
A company spokesperson stated that the new office will strengthen Schwab’s access to a deep pool of highly skilled talent, while supporting the firm’s objectives around scale, efficiency, risk management, and operational excellence.
Leadership for India Expansion
To lead the India operations, Pradeep Menon has taken over as Managing Director and Country Head of Charles Schwab India. He previously served as CEO and Country Head of HSBC SDI.
Strategic GCC Expansion in Hyderabad
According to Raja Seetharaman, co-founder of Propstack, the move signals a strategic expansion for the US brokerage company in India.
He noted that Charles Schwab’s Hyderabad GCC represents a strategic pivot, enabling the company to tap into the city’s rapidly expanding BFSI talent pool for high-value technology, analytics, and digital operations. The centre is projected to create around 2,000 jobs over the next 24 months.
Supporting Global Operations
The Hyderabad centre is expected to support Schwab’s global operations across technology, analytics, and digital capabilities, while also strengthening collaboration with the company’s international teams.
With this expansion, Charles Schwab continues to deepen its presence in India, leveraging the country’s skilled workforce and growing technology ecosystem to support its global business functions.
