Medtronic to Invest $50 Million in Pune for New Diabetes Global Capability Centre 

Global healthcare technology leader Medtronic plc has announced a strategic investment of $50 million (approx. ₹430 crore) over the next five years to establish and expand its Diabetes Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Pune, India.

The newly inaugurated centre is designed to drive innovation, enhance patient support, and deliver operational excellence for Medtronic’s global diabetes business. This initiative not only strengthens the company’s global footprint but also highlights India’s growing role as a strategic hub for healthcare technology and IT services.

The incredible depth of talent in Pune and across India aligns with our purpose—to support people living with diabetes with solutions that truly make life easier,” said Que Dallara, EVP & President, Medtronic Diabetes 
Creating Jobs and Advancing Healthcare Innovation
The Pune GCC is expected to generate over 300 new jobs in its first year across software development, service delivery, and patient financial operations, with plans to double that workforce within four years.

In addition to supporting innovation in diabetes care, the centre will play a critical role in streamlining patient financial services, enhancing global support systems, and enabling the delivery of cutting-edge diabetes management solutions.
