Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has announced the launch of the fourth phase of Kochi Infopark, a landmark initiative set to drive the next wave of IT growth in the state. The expansion, designed as a mixed township model, is projected to create 50,000 direct IT jobs and attract investments worth ₹3,000 crore.
Land Transfer for Expansion
As part of the project, the government has decided to transfer 33.5 acres of land belonging to Traco Cable Company in Irumpanam, Ernakulam, to Infopark for ₹200 crore.
The CM described the site as a “strategic location”, positioned adjacent to the existing Infopark campus and well-connected to major infrastructure including the Kakkanad Water Metro, Kochi Metro, seaport, airport, and four-lane highway.

Vision for a Mixed Township Model
The fourth phase will be developed as a world-class IT township featuring:
- State-of-the-art IT complexes
- Modern commercial spaces
- Supporting urban infrastructure
According to Vijayan, this model will not only expand Kerala’s IT footprint but also create an integrated ecosystem that supports innovation, business growth, and sustainable urban living.
Boost to Kerala’s IT Ecosystem
The project is expected to add 50 lakh sq ft of new IT space, reinforcing Kochi’s reputation as the industrial and IT capital of Kerala.
Vijayan emphasized that this initiative aligns with the government’s broader strategy to position Kochi as a hub for Artificial Intelligence, Global Capability Centers (GCCs), and next-generation IT campuses.
