WeSchool Hosts Round Table with Industry and GCC Leaders to Advance PM Modi’s Vision of Viksit Bharat 2047

Prin. L. N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research (WeSchool) organized a Round Table on “The Role of GCCs and Academia as Catalysts for Viksit Bharat 2047”—bringing together policymakers, industry experts, and academia to strengthen India’s knowledge economy and workforce readiness. 
The event aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and the national initiative ‘Sewa Parva’, celebrating service as the highest form of patriotism. 
India: The GCC Capital of the World
The discussion highlighted India’s emergence as the Global Capability Centre (GCC) Capital, driven by innovation, digital transformation, and skilled talent. Leaders explored trends in AI, cloud, and cybersecurity, and the importance of collaboration between academia, industry, and policymakers. 
WeSchool’s contribution to building Tier-2 and Tier-3 GCC hubs and nurturing future-ready leaders was a key focus. 
Policy Push from Maharashtra
Kaustubh Dhavse, Special Advisor to the Chief Minister, noted that Maharashtra is attracting strong GCC investments through new policies that promote ease of doing business, innovation, and gender diversity. The session also marked the state’s approval of a dedicated GCC policy, further reinforcing India’s role as a global innovation hub. 
Academia as the Talent Engine
Yogesh Brahmankar, Innovation Director at the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, emphasized academia’s crucial role in developing skilled, entrepreneurial talent. He called for deeper collaboration between institutions and industry through joint research and faculty immersion programs. 
WeSchool’s Vision for National Development
Prof. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool, reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to fostering innovation, leadership, and societal impact. 
Roadmap for Future Collaboration
The conference concluded with a joint action roadmap outlining strategies for talent development, leadership growth, and innovation enablement. The dialogue reinforced India’s position as both the GCC Capital and Global Innovation Capital, showcasing WeSchool’s leadership in bridging academia and industry for national progress.
