According to ICRA, India’s GCC count—currently around 1,700—is projected to surpass 2,500 by 2030, generating over $100 billion in annual revenue and nearly doubling the current workforce. Here are the Top 9 GCC expansions shaping India’s global innovation story in 2025
1. Walmart Global Tech – Chennai
Walmart Global Tech is expanding aggressively in India, leasing 465,000 sq. ft. of office space in Chennai’s International Tech Park. This follows its Bengaluru expansion, reinforcing Walmart’s commitment to India’s digital and retail innovation ecosystem.  
2. Rakuten – Bengaluru
Japanese tech conglomerate Rakuten announced a $100 million investment in India and an 8% workforce expansion in 2025. Its Indian GCC, home to nearly 4,000 employees (90% in tech roles), manages half of Rakuten’s 70+ global businesses, underscoring India’s role in its global operations.  
3. Entain – Hyderabad
Global gaming and sports betting company Entain rebranded its Indian arm from Ivy to Entain India in June 2025. The GCC consolidates 3,400 employees across multiple sites and focuses on AI-driven personalisation, real-time trading engines, and high-scale digital experiences.
4. AstraZeneca – Bengaluru

Pharma major AstraZeneca announced a ₹166 crore investment to expand its Bengaluru Global Hub, creating 400 new roles. The centre now employs around 4,000 professionals across Bengaluru and Chennai, advancing AI-driven R&D, global business services, and digital health initiatives.

5. Medtronic – Pune
Medtronic Plc launched a new GCC in Pune focused on diabetes operations, backed by a $50 million investment over five years. The centre will create 300+ new jobs initially and double its workforce in four years, driving innovation in analytics, patient support, and digital services.
6. First Citizens Bank – Bengaluru
First Citizens India, a subsidiary of the U.S.-based First Citizens BancShares, expanded operations with a new office in Bengaluru. The facility supports technology, cybersecurity, enterprise operations, and risk management—cementing India’s role in the bank’s global service delivery.
7. DAZN – Hyderabad
UK-based DAZN expanded its Centre of Excellence in Hyderabad by launching a Global Sports Operations Centre, with an investment of ₹500 crore and plans to create 3,000 jobs by 2026. The centre drives innovation in sports streaming and real-time data analytics.
8. Assent – Pune
Sustainability leader Assent is setting up an Innovation and Technology Centre in Pune, focused on AI-driven supply chain resilience and analytics. Pune’s rich talent pool and academic ecosystem made it a strategic choice for the company’s global innovation strategy.
9. Guidewire – Bengaluru
Insurance technology firm Guidewire plans to double its India workforce to 1,000 employees, expanding its 81,664 sq. ft. GCC in Bengaluru. The expansion strengthens its professional services division and accelerates the development of cloud-native solutions for global insurers.
