SolarEdge Opens Global Capability Centre in Bengaluru to Monitor Global PV Installations

Why India? Talent, Tech & Efficiency
According to Sanjay Puri, Country Manager, SolarEdge India, the GCC setup in India allows the company to leverage top-tier talent in engineering and analytics. “Earlier, each region independently managed their solar systems. Now, we are consolidating our monitoring and management operations under one roof in India to harness local expertise and improve efficiency,” he said in an interview with The Hindu.
Key Features of the India GCC
Growing Presence in India
SolarEdge is also scaling up its India operations. With a current workforce of 400 employees, the company plans to hire 200 more professionals, including hardware engineers, software developers, electrical and mechanical engineers, power system experts, and IoT specialists.

“We aim to increase our market share in India’s PV sector from 5% to 10% in the coming years,” said Puri. The company’s offerings include smart inverters, power optimisers, energy storage solutions, and EV charging systems, all of which will benefit from the increased R&D and technical monitoring capabilities at the Bengaluru GCC.
What This Means for the Solar Industry
With SolarEdge’s GCC in Bengaluru, the global solar energy industry stands to benefit from faster fault resolution, higher system uptime, and improved site performance. The model also sets a precedent for how centralised digital infrastructure can support the growing complexity and scale of global renewable energy projects
