Samsung has officially begun laptop manufacturing in India at its Greater Noida facility, marking a milestone in its localization strategy. The Greater Noida plant, established in 1996, is one of Samsung’s oldest and most advanced factories in India. It already serves as a key hub for smartphone production and exports. With the rollout of its first batch of India-made Samsung laptops, the company is setting the stage for scaling up domestic production and reducing reliance on imports.

Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw welcomed Samsung’s move after a meeting with Samsung Southwest Asia President & CEO JB Park and Corporate VP SP Chun. He emphasized that Samsung’s local manufacturing push is powered by Indian talent and innovation, aligning with India’s vision of becoming a global electronics hub.
