Rapid7 Expands into India with a New Global Capability Center in Pune

A Strategic Move for Innovation and Cybersecurity Excellence
Rapid7, Inc. (NASDAQ: RPD), a global leader in extended risk and threat detection, has announced its expansion into India with the launch of a Global Capability Center (GCC) in Pune. This new center will serve as an innovation hub and Security Operations Center (SOC), reinforcing the company’s commitment to providing seamless, 24×7 security operations for its global customers.

The GCC, set to open in April 2025, aims to drive product and service innovation in cyber operations while nurturing local cybersecurity talent. Strengthening Cybersecurity with World-Class Talent
The Pune center will be pivotal in scaling threat detection and response capabilities while fostering collaborations with corporations and academic institutions. Hiring efforts will focus on building a high-performing team skilled in AI, machine learning, and cybersecurity innovation.

According to Corey Thomas, Chairman & CEO of Rapid7, the expansion is a strategic move to enhance security operations leadership and customer-centric innovation. “Establishing a SOC in Pune allows us to scale globally while tapping into the region’s exceptional technical talent,” he said
Engaging with India’s Cybersecurity Ecosystem
As part of its expansion, Rapid7 is actively engaging with India’s government, education, and business sectors to support cybersecurity innovation. Sabeen Malik, Vice President of Global Government Affairs & Public Policy at Rapid7, will participate in the Raisina Dialogue, discussing digital security in the Indo-Pacific alongside Indian cyber policy leaders.

In May, Rapid7 will host three in-region Security Day events in Mumbai (May 8), Delhi (May 13), and Bangalore (May 15). These events will bring together leaders from top corporations, academic institutions, and government to explore the evolving cyber threat landscape.
