Microchip Technology Expands India Presence with New Engineering and Design Facility in Bengaluru

Microchip Technology, a leading global semiconductor company known for enabling innovation through total system solutions, has expanded its India operations with the acquisition of 1.72 lakh square feet (16,000 square meters) of premium office space at the Export Promotion Industrial Park (EPIP) Zone in Whitefield, Bengaluru.
The new facility marks a major milestone in Microchip’s growth journey in India and reinforces its long-term commitment to strengthening engineering and design capabilities in the country.
Strategic Expansion to Power Innovation
The new Bengaluru office will serve as a strategic extension of Microchip’s existing Bengaluru Development Center, supporting the company’s global R&D and engineering operations.
Capable of accommodating over 3,000 employees over the next decade, the facility is designed to foster collaboration between global and regional teams, enabling faster innovation and seamless design integration across Microchip’s global network.
The site will feature state-of-the-art infrastructure dedicated to advanced IC design, verification, and product development, supporting Microchip’s mission to deliver intelligent, secure, and connected solutions for its customers worldwide.

Commenting on the expansion, Srikanth Settikere, Vice President and Managing Director of Microchip’s India Development Center, said:

With India contributing nearly 20 percent of global semiconductor design talent, our new Bengaluru facility will sharpen our advanced IC design focus and strengthen our engagement in one of the country’s most dynamic technology hubs.”
