Meta Appoints Arun Srinivas as India Head, Effective July 1, 2025 

In a significant leadership update, Meta has announced the appointment of Arun Srinivas as the Managing Director and Head of India, effective July 1, 2025. This strategic move underscores Meta’s continued commitment to India, one of its largest and fastest-growing markets globally.
Leadership Transition and Reporting Structure
Srinivas’s appointment follows the elevation of Sandhya Devanathan, who now leads Meta’s operations across both India and Southeast Asia. In his new role, Srinivas will report directly to Devanathan and assume responsibility for Meta’s overall business operations, innovation agenda, and revenue strategies in India.

Arun Srinivas joined Meta in 2020 and currently heads the company’s Ads Business in India.
Strengthening India as a Strategic Market
Speaking on the appointment, Sandhya Devanathan, Vice President, Meta (India and Southeast Asia), said:

Devanathan highlighted India’s growing influence in areas such as AI adoption, WhatsApp-based business solutions, and Reels engagement, where Meta continues to lead innovation.

An alumnus of IIM Kolkata, Arun Srinivas brings close to 30 years of experience across industry giants such as Hindustan Unilever, Reebok, OLA, and WestBridge Capital. At Meta, he has played a pivotal role in scaling revenue by fostering deep partnerships with India’s largest advertisers and agencies.

His appointment comes amid other leadership transitions at Meta India, including the upcoming exit of Shivnath Thukral, Meta India’s Public Policy Head, scheduled for end of June 2025

Meta continues to emphasize India’s role in its global strategy. According to recent research commissioned by the company, nearly 80% of Indian consumers discover products through social media, reflecting the pivotal role of platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp in modern commerce.
