McDonald’s Inaugurates Its Largest Global Capability Centre Outside the US in Hyderabad

In a major boost to Telangana’s growing global technology ecosystem, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu inaugurated McDonald’s Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad on Wednesday. This marks McDonald’s largest GCC outside the United States, further cementing the city’s reputation as a preferred hub for multinational innovation and digital excellence.
Expanding McDonald’s Global Footprint
Located at RMZ Nexity in Hitec City, the new McDonald’s GCC spans 1,56,496 square feet across four floors. It will house global teams across finance, human resources, sourcing, data analytics, and AI & technology, serving as a critical backbone for McDonald’s operations across 43,000 restaurants and 65 million daily customers worldwide.
The Hyderabad centre reinforces McDonald’s commitment to leveraging India’s world-class talent pool to drive global efficiencies, innovation, and customer experience advancements.
A Testament to Telangana’s GCC Leadership
Hyderabad’s emergence as a premier GCC destination continues to gather momentum. According to Xpheno’s report, Hyderabad accounted for 40% of all new GCCs established in India over the past three years, surpassing Bengaluru’s 33%.
Recent entrants such as Vanguard, Heineken, and Eli Lilly have already strengthened the city’s reputation as a thriving base for technology and capability centres. McDonald’s latest investment adds another marquee name to this expanding roster.
Community and Innovation Impact
Beyond business operations, McDonald’s is contributing to the Ronald McDonald House programme in Hyderabad, an initiative that provides care and accommodation for families of children undergoing medical treatment. This aligns with the company’s long-standing focus on community engagement and social impact alongside its business growth.
Strengthening India’s Role in Global Operations
For McDonald’s, this move represents both an operational and strategic milestone. By situating its largest international GCC in Hyderabad, the company is not only expanding its digital, data, and analytics capabilities, but also deepening its integration into India’s rapidly evolving global innovation landscape.
The Hyderabad GCC is expected to create hundreds of new jobs, supporting McDonald’s vision of driving innovation and operational excellence across its international network.
Leadership Remarks
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy highlighted Telangana’s supportive ecosystem for global enterprises, saying the government remains committed to fostering investment and talent-driven growth.
IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu added that the state’s progressive policies, world-class infrastructure, and skilled workforce continue to make Hyderabad an ideal destination for GCC expansion.
Conclusion
McDonald’s Hyderabad GCC launch represents a defining moment in the company’s India journey — transforming the country from a key market into a strategic global operations hub. As Telangana continues to attract multinational GCC investments, the state strengthens its position as a cornerstone of India’s digital economy and global enterprise innovation.
