Kerala Emerges as a Hotspot for Global Capability Centres (GCCs)

Kerala is rapidly emerging as a strategic hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), with more than 30 international firms showing interest in establishing operations in the state. Companies like Comply, Giant Eagle, and Micropolis are among those eager to capitalize on Kerala’s growing GCC ecosystem.
Government-Led Consortium Driving Interest
A high-powered IT committee formed by the Kerala government is leading discussions with potential investors. Backing this initiative is a consortium of 12 global consulting firms, including Everest Group, Avasant, and ANSR, specifically established to attract international interest. This move was conceptualized during the Invest Kerala Global Summit held in February and has proven to be a successful strategy.
Established Global Players Already in Kerala
Kerala already hosts several major GCCs from leading global companies such as IBM, Allianz, Nissan Digital, EY, Accenture, Equifax, H&R Block, Insight, NOV, Safran, Guidehouse, Icon, and RM Education. Their presence reflects the state’s potential in technology, innovation, and human capital.
World-Class Infrastructure & Talent Pool
According to Technopark CEO Sanjeev Nair, Kerala’s appeal lies in its world-class infrastructure, strong academia-industry connect, and thriving startup ecosystem. Institutions like APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Digital University Kerala, ICT Academy of Kerala, and MuLearn contribute significantly to the robust talent pipeline.
A Flourishing IT Environment
Kerala’s major IT parks in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, and Kozhikode are becoming vibrant hubs for product engineering and digital innovation. With support from the Kerala Startup Mission, the state offers a fertile ground for both established companies and startups.
A State Built for Growth and Livability
With the highest Human Development Index (HDI), top literacy rates, and nation-leading internet penetration, Kerala positions itself not just as a business destination but also as one of the best places to live and work in India.
