Hyderabad to Host World’s First Beauty-Tech Global Capability Centre as L’Oréal Announces Major Investment

During the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos, the Telangana Rising delegation, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, secured a landmark investment from global cosmetics giant L’Oréal to establish the world’s first beauty-tech Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad. The facility is scheduled to be inaugurated in November 2026.
Strategic Leadership Engagement
The announcement was made during a meeting with L’Oréal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus, who expressed enthusiasm about setting up the large-scale GCC in Hyderabad. The centre will serve as a global hub for innovation, technology, data, and supply chain operations, supporting L’Oréal’s digital transformation, AI, and analytics initiatives, with locally developed solutions deployed across the company’s global operations.
Telangana Government Support
Hon’ble Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Hon’ble Minister D. Sridhar Babu have been invited to attend the GCC inauguration later this year. Minister Sridhar Babu highlighted Hyderabad’s prominence in the GCC space and emphasized the state government’s full support for global investors.
Telangana is emerging not only as a leader in med-tech and health-tech GCCs but also as a pioneer in beauty-tech, creating new opportunities for international companies. Hyderabad already hosts GCCs for global firms such as Vanguard, Netflix, McDonald’s, Heineken, Jaggaer, and Costco Wholesale, while hospitality giants like Marriott continue to expand their presence in the state.
Future Opportunities
The delegation presented details about the Telangana AI Innovation Hub (TAIH), which drew keen interest from L’Oréal’s CEO. Additionally, Special Chief Secretary of ITE&C and Industries, Sanjay Kumar, invited L’Oréal to explore setting up a manufacturing unit in Hyderabad, signaling potential future expansions alongside the GCC.
Conclusion
L’Oréal’s investment further cements Hyderabad’s reputation as a global hub for innovation, technology-driven enterprise operations, and high-value investments in emerging sectors like beauty-tech. The GCC is expected to drive global innovation while reinforcing Telangana’s strategic position in the global GCC ecosystem.
