Ford Business Solutions (FBS), the global hub for technology and business services within the Ford family, has taken a significant step in expanding its operations in India. With an already strong presence through its Global Capability Center (GCC) in Chennai, FBS has now launched a new office in Bengaluru, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, digital transformation, and high-tech talent acquisition
Why Bengaluru? A Strategic Move for Ford
Bengaluru, often called the Silicon Valley of India, has been chosen as the next major hub for FBS, extending the capabilities of its Chennai GCC. The new Bengaluru office, with a seating capacity of 350 employees, currently houses 75 professionals and is set to expand further.
Mike Amend, Chief Enterprise Technology Officer of Ford, shared insights into this expansion, highlighting that while Chennai remains a key hub, Bengaluru offers a rich talent pool in digital transformation, AI, and other high-demand tech fields

“We predominantly opened the new office for high-tech, niche, and high-demand skills. We’re building more platforms that can support various digital capabilities – cybersecurity, DevSecOps, DevOps, and AI, all of which are in high demand,” he stated.
Growing Workforce: 2,000 New Hires Planned
With 12,000 employees across India, FBS is already a major player in Ford’s global operations. The company has ambitious hiring plans, aiming to recruit 2,000 additional employees over the next four years, starting in 2025. Last year alone, FBS hired around 1,050 professionals in Chennai, primarily in enterprise tech roles.
Currently, around 40% of the workforce in India is focused on technology-related roles, while 30% work in product development and engineering, including manufacturing engineering. Half of Ford’s global enterprise tech team is based out of Chennai, making India a crucial part of the company’s global strategy.
