In a significant milestone coinciding with its 40th year of operations in India, Festo has inaugurated a new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru. The move underscores the company’s deepening commitment to Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, and global digital transformation.
Located near Electronics City, the 71,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility is designed to house up to 600 professionals and will function as a strategic hub supporting Festo’s worldwide engineering and innovation mandates.
A Strategic Hub for Global Engineering & Digital Excellence
The Bengaluru GCC will serve as a core centre for:
- Advanced engineering and global R&D programs
- Digital solutions and software development
- Data analytics and intelligent automation
- Global process optimisation and operational excellence
By centralising these capabilities in India, Festo aims to strengthen its global innovation pipeline while leveraging the country’s robust engineering and technology talent base.
Advancing Industry 4.0 & Sustainable Automation
The new centre aligns with Festo’s global vision of automation for a sustainable future. It is expected to play a critical role in driving Industry 4.0 initiatives, integrating intelligent systems, data-driven processes, and next-generation automation technologies across global markets.
The GCC will not only support ongoing transformation programs but also accelerate the development of scalable digital manufacturing solutions.
Four Decades of Industrial Impact
Festo began its India journey in 1963 and was incorporated in 1986. Today, with over 1,000 employees in the country and collaborations spanning 25,000 customers and partners, the company has played a pivotal role in advancing industrial automation and technical education.
The inauguration of the Bengaluru GCC marks the evolution of Festo’s India presence — from a market operation to a strategic global capability engine.
Strengthening India’s Position in the Global GCC Landscape
With this launch, Festo reinforces Bengaluru’s standing as a premier destination for engineering and digital GCCs. The centre exemplifies how global manufacturing and industrial technology leaders are increasingly leveraging India not just for scale, but for innovation, R&D, and future-ready capabilities.
As Industry 4.0 adoption accelerates worldwide, the Bengaluru GCC is poised to play a vital role in shaping Festo’s next chapter of global growth and sustainable automation leadership.
