Global Expansion Strategy

On September 26, 2025, Anthropic announced plans to triple its international workforce and expand its applied AI team fivefold this year. This growth is driven by the soaring demand for Claude across global markets. The company’s customer base has grown from fewer than 1,000 two years ago to over 300,000 today, while its revenue run-rate surged from $87 million in early 2024 to over $5 billion by August 2025.

To lead its expansion, Anthropic appointed Chris Ciauri, a former Google and Salesforce executive, as Managing Director of International, joining a strong leadership team that includes Paul Smith (Chief Commercial Officer) and regional heads across EMEA, Japan, and the Americas.
