U.S.-based pizza giant Little Caesars is preparing to enter the Indian market with the opening of its first outlet in the Delhi NCR region this month. The company also unveiled ambitious plans to expand aggressively across the country in the coming years, capitalizing on India’s robust economic growth
Strategic Entry into India
Founded in 1959, Little Caesars is currently the third-largest pizza franchise globally, with operations spanning over 29 countries. With India’s economy projected to grow 6.5% in FY26, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the brand sees India as a key opportunity in its global expansion strategy.
“India is experiencing a growth path… We aim to catch this wave,” said Carlos Vidal, Vice President of International Development, Little Caesars.

Ambitious Expansion Plans
Vidal confirmed that the brand aims to have 100 outlets operational in India by the end of the decade, describing it as a “realistic target.” Long-term, Little Caesars is considering hundreds and ultimately thousands of stores in the country.
To cater to local preferences, Little Caesars will offer vegetarian pizzas and introduce flavored crusts—a global first for the brand—to accommodate Indian consumers who often leave crusts uneaten.

Competitive Market Landscape
India’s pizza market is already crowded with global players like Domino’s Pizza and Pizza Hut (Yum Brands), in addition to regional chains like La Pino’z and a vast array of independent pizzerias. Despite challenges faced by other international chains—Papa John’s exited India in 2017 due to operational issues and intense competition—the brand is expected to re-enter the market in 2025.
Global Expansion Outlook
In addition to India, Little Caesars is also eyeing growth in Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, the UAE, and Brazil, as part of its international development roadmap.
